Introduction

Eldopaque Forte (hydroquinone) cream topical is a medication meant for the treatment of darkened skin. For example age spots, chloasma, freckles, and melasma to lighten those areas. The job of hydroquinone is to decrease the formation of melanin in the skin. Melanin is the pigment in skin is responsible for a brown or dark color of the skin.

Dosing Information

Use Eldopaque Forte as you are instructed by your doctor. This medicine also has the instruction in the prescription label to follow. Use the cream on clean, dry skin. Apply medicine to cover the affected area. You should not apply it to the unaffected surrounding skin. Rub in the medication softly and from top to bottom. Make practice of using it regularly to make most of the drug.

Never use in huge amounts as it may result in many side effects. Also avoid using it longer than suggested. This medicine is meant for external use. Wash your hands before and after using this cream.

Possible Side Effects

There are a number of side effects associated with the use of Eldopaque Forte (hydroquinone cream). They are blistering, swelling, intense itching, or blue-black darkening of the skin.

Your doctor must be informed if you develop any of these side effects: trouble breathing, chest tightness, allergic reaction: itching, swelling in your hands or face, tingling in your mouth or throat, hives. This cream also may cause any less severe side effects, for example skin redness or mild stinging.

Drug Interactions

Hydroquinone topical if used with other drugs can cause bad effects. Such as, using hydroquinone topical together with hydrogen peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, or other peroxide products may give rise to a temporary staining of your skin. Generally soap and water can remove this staining.

Some rare possibilities are there that other orally or inject drugs can have effects while taking topically applied this medicine. The doctor who treats you should be informed about all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, minerals, vitamins, herbal products, and drugs approved by other doctors. You should never start a new drug without reporting your doctor.

Missed Dose & Overdose

If you seem to miss a dose, apply as you memorize. But don't allow excess use for miss dose, because it can result in adverse effects. Excess use can induce skin rashes, swelling. An overdose of topically applied hydroquinone is not likely to lead to serious effects. But if you notice any such effects, then stay away from overdose.

Drug Warnings

You should avoid contact of Eldopaque Forte with your lips or inside your nose or mouth. Otherwise it may result in numbness of these areas. If the drug comes in contact with these areas, wash with water.

The use of hydroquinone topical should be avoided on sunburned, chapped, dry, irritated, wind burned, or broken skin. Weather extremes such as cold and wind also may have bad effect on your skin. Take care of your skin with clothing and make use of a moisturizing cream or lotion if required.

You should never use skin products that can create irritation, for example hair removers or waxes, skin cleansers, shampoos, harsh soaps, or hair coloring or permanent chemicals, or skin products that contain alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime. Abstain from making use of other medicated skin products unless your doctor has advised you to.

Also do not come in direct contact with sunlight or artificial UV rays (sunlamps or tanning beds) as it can cause harm to your skin. You should utilize a sunscreen (minimum SPF 15) and wear protective clothing if you have to go out in the sun. Let your doctor knows in case you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or have other medical problems.
